Last updated: 29 September 2026
Behavior Tracker Pro is provided by Steady Neuro. This policy explains what information the app stores, how it is used, how shared profiles work, and the choices you have over your information.
Behavior Tracker Pro is designed to help parents, carers and professionals record behavior incidents, triggers, early signs, what helped, and related observations.
It is not a diagnostic tool, medical device, clinical assessment, safeguarding system, or replacement for professional advice.
Steady Neuro accounts
Behavior Tracker Pro uses a Steady Neuro account.
We may store information associated with your account, including:
- Your first name
- Your last name, if provided
- Your email address
- Your country or region
- Authentication information needed to securely identify your account
- Internal account identifiers
- Account creation and update dates
- Subscription and entitlement information
- Profile memberships
- Invitations
- Access permissions
- Technical information required to operate, secure and synchronise your account
Steady Neuro accounts are intended for adults such as parents, carers and professionals.
Children or other people being supported are represented by profiles and are not expected to create or manage their own Steady Neuro account.
We do not currently require a telephone number to use Behavior Tracker Pro.
Information stored in profiles
Behavior Tracker Pro may store information that you or another authorised profile member chooses to enter.
This may include:
- Profile names
- Behavior logs
- Dates and times of incidents
- Behavior types
- Severity and duration
- Location labels
- Antecedents, behaviors and consequences
- Triggers
- Early warning signs
- What helped
- Notes
- Custom categories
- Who recorded or observed an incident
- Other information entered into free-text fields
This information may relate to a child or another person being supported.
Please avoid entering personal or sensitive information that is not needed for the purpose of the record.
Sensitive and health-related information
Behavior Tracker Pro does not require you to enter a medical diagnosis.
However, behavior records and notes may sometimes reveal information about a person’s physical or mental health, disability, neurodevelopmental condition or other sensitive circumstances.
Some of this information may therefore be special-category personal data under UK data-protection law.
For family use, where explicit consent is required for this type of information, Steady Neuro relies on explicit consent under Article 9(2)(a) of the UK GDPR.
When creating a profile, the person creating it must confirm that they are authorised to provide information about the person concerned and, where applicable, to provide consent on their behalf.
Steady Neuro records information about this consent, such as when it was given and the version of the consent wording that was accepted.
Where consent is relied upon, it can be withdrawn. Depending on the circumstances, withdrawing consent may mean that Steady Neuro can no longer continue processing the affected profile information and the profile may need to be deleted.
Withdrawal of consent does not affect processing that was lawful before consent was withdrawn.
Professional use
Behavior Tracker Pro can also be used by professionals and organisations supporting other people.
Where a professional or organisation decides why and how information about a client, pupil or service user is recorded in Behavior Tracker Pro, that professional or organisation may be the data controller for that profile information and Steady Neuro may act as a processor on their behalf.
The professional or organisation is responsible for determining the appropriate lawful basis for recording and sharing that person’s information.
Steady Neuro remains responsible for information it processes for its own purposes, such as account administration, subscriptions, security, service operation and product analytics.
Professionals should only create profiles and record information where they have appropriate authority to do so.
Why we process information
We process information where necessary to provide and operate Behavior Tracker Pro.
This includes:
- Creating and authenticating Steady Neuro accounts
- Creating and storing profiles
- Saving behavior records
- Synchronising information between devices
- Allowing authorised users to share and contribute to profiles
- Managing invitations and permissions
- Providing reports and insights
- Providing offline functionality
- Managing subscriptions and entitlements
- Protecting accounts and the service
- Detecting and investigating technical problems
- Responding to support requests
- Improving the reliability and usability of Behavior Tracker Pro
- Meeting legal or regulatory obligations where applicable
Depending on the type of processing, our lawful basis may include performance of our contract with you, consent, legitimate interests, or compliance with legal obligations.
For special-category information, an additional condition under Article 9 of the UK GDPR is required.
Where we rely on legitimate interests, those interests may include operating and securing the service, preventing misuse, maintaining the integrity of shared records, and improving Behavior Tracker Pro while taking account of the privacy rights of the people involved.
Where your data is stored
Unlike Behavior Tracker ABC, Behavior Tracker Pro uses Steady Neuro cloud services so that information can be synchronised and securely shared between authorised users.
Information may be stored:
- On your device
- In Steady Neuro’s cloud infrastructure
- In databases used by Behavior Tracker Pro
- In backups needed for service recovery
- In limited technical or security logs needed to operate and protect the service
Steady Neuro uses Microsoft Azure to provide cloud infrastructure for Behavior Tracker Pro.
Behavior Tracker Pro uses regional services. The infrastructure used for profile information depends on the region associated with the account or profile.
Because Steady Neuro operates the Behavior Tracker Pro cloud service, Steady Neuro can technically process information stored within the service where this is required to operate, maintain, secure or support it.
Access to production information is restricted and should only take place where necessary for those purposes.
Offline data
Behavior Tracker Pro is designed to allow some information to remain available on your device so you can continue using supported features when an internet connection is temporarily unavailable.
Information recorded offline may be stored locally until it can be synchronised with Steady Neuro’s cloud services.
Removing the app from a device does not by itself delete your Steady Neuro account or data already stored in the Behavior Tracker Pro cloud service.
Shared profiles
Behavior Tracker Pro allows a profile owner to invite other people to access a profile.
Depending on the permissions they have been given, invited users may be able to:
- View profile information
- View behavior records
- Add behavior records
- Edit behavior records
- Review insights
- Generate reports or exports
- Carry out other actions permitted by their role
Each person uses their own Steady Neuro account.
The profile owner controls who is invited and what level of access they are given.
Profile owners should only share profiles with people who genuinely need access to the information.
Information contributed to a shared profile
Behavior records belong to the shared profile rather than solely to the account that entered them.
If you contribute information to a profile owned by somebody else, that information becomes part of that profile’s shared history.
This means that leaving a shared profile or later deleting your Steady Neuro account does not automatically delete behavior records that you previously contributed to the profile.
For example, a record may include a Logged by value such as:
- Mum
- Dad
- Carer
- Teacher
- A name entered by the user
- Another custom description
The Logged by value forms part of the historical behavior record.
If you choose to record a person’s name, such as “Steve Smith”, as the Logged by value, that value may remain with the behavior record even if Steve Smith later leaves the profile or deletes their Steady Neuro account.
The Steady Neuro account used to contribute the record is separate from the content intentionally recorded within the behavior record.
If somebody later asks us to remove personal information about them from historical shared records, we will consider that request separately in accordance with applicable data-protection law and the circumstances of the request.
Invitations
Profile owners can invite other people to shared profiles.
To provide invitations, we may process information such as:
- The invited person’s email address
- The identity of the person sending the invitation
- Invitation status
- The profile or membership associated with the invitation
- Dates associated with sending, accepting, declining or cancelling the invitation
We aim to minimise sensitive information included in invitation emails.
Behavior logs and detailed behavior information are not included in invitation emails.
Transactional emails
Behavior Tracker Pro may send emails needed to operate the service.
These may include:
- Profile invitations
- Account-related messages
- Security messages
- Important service notices
- Messages relating to access or account changes
Steady Neuro uses Resend to help deliver transactional emails.
Information needed to send those emails may therefore be processed by Resend and its service providers.
Transactional emails are not used to build advertising profiles.
Authentication
Behavior Tracker Pro uses external identity services to authenticate users.
Microsoft identity services may process information needed to sign you in or create your authentication account.
Behavior Tracker Pro receives information needed to associate the authenticated identity with your Steady Neuro account.
Authentication providers do not receive the contents of your behavior records simply because you use them to sign in.
Subscriptions and payments
Subscriptions purchased through the App Store are processed by Apple.
Steady Neuro does not receive or store your payment-card details.
Behavior Tracker Pro may receive and store information needed to determine whether you have an active subscription or entitlement, including information such as:
- Subscription product
- Subscription status
- Transaction or purchase identifiers
- Renewal information
- Expiry information
This information is used to determine which Behavior Tracker Pro features and profile limits are available to your account.
Deleting a Steady Neuro account does not necessarily cancel an App Store subscription.
If you have an active subscription, you should manage or cancel it through your Apple subscription settings if you no longer want it to renew.
Analytics
Behavior Tracker Pro uses TelemetryDeck to provide limited, privacy-focused product analytics.
This helps us understand how the app is being used, identify areas that can be improved and investigate product reliability.
Analytics may include information such as:
- App version
- Operating system version
- Device type
- App language or locale
- General product interactions
- Whether a feature was opened or used
- Whether an action such as creating a record or viewing a report took place
We do not intentionally send the contents of behavior records to TelemetryDeck.
This includes:
- Profile names
- Names of children or other people
- Antecedents
- Behaviors
- Consequences
- Notes
- Locations
- Early signs
- Custom categories
- Search text
- PDF contents
- CSV contents
- Other free-text behavior information
Analytics may therefore tell us that an action happened, but not the contents of the behavior record involved.
TelemetryDeck is designed to anonymise analytics identifiers and currently processes its analytics infrastructure within the European Union.
Advertising and tracking
Behavior Tracker Pro does not use advertising tracking.
Behavior Tracker Pro does not sell your personal information.
Behavior Tracker Pro does not sell behavior records.
Behavior Tracker Pro does not use behavior records to build advertising or marketing profiles.
We do not allow advertisers to access shared profiles.
Service providers
Steady Neuro uses service providers where necessary to operate Behavior Tracker Pro.
These include providers involved in:
- Cloud hosting and databases
- Authentication
- Transactional email delivery
- App Store subscriptions
- Privacy-focused analytics
- Diagnostics and service monitoring
Our principal providers may include:
- Microsoft, for Azure cloud infrastructure and identity services
- Apple, for App Store distribution, subscriptions and Apple-provided diagnostics
- TelemetryDeck, for privacy-focused product analytics
- Resend, for transactional email delivery
These providers receive only the information needed to provide the relevant service.
They process information under their own contractual, security and privacy arrangements.
International data transfers
Some providers used by Behavior Tracker Pro may process information outside the United Kingdom or outside the country in which you live.
Where personal information is transferred internationally, Steady Neuro uses appropriate safeguards where required by applicable data-protection law.
These may include:
- Countries recognised as providing an adequate level of protection
- The UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework where applicable
- Standard contractual clauses together with the UK Addendum
- Other legally recognised transfer safeguards
Microsoft provides data-protection terms covering its cloud services.
Resend is based in the United States and provides contractual international-transfer safeguards, including participation in the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
TelemetryDeck processes the analytics information used by Behavior Tracker Pro within European infrastructure.
We review our service providers and transfer arrangements as the service develops.
Children’s information
Behavior Tracker Pro accounts are intended to be operated by adults such as parents, carers and professionals.
Children should not be expected to manage Steady Neuro accounts, subscriptions, profile sharing or privacy settings themselves.
A Behavior Tracker Pro profile may contain information about a child.
Children have their own data-protection rights even where an adult created the profile.
Where an adult creates a profile or exercises privacy rights on behalf of a child, they should have appropriate authority to do so and act in the child’s interests.
As children mature, their ability to understand and exercise their own privacy rights may change.
Because behavior records can contain sensitive information, we recommend:
- Recording only information that is useful and relevant
- Avoiding unnecessary medical, school or identifying information in free-text notes
- Giving profile access only to people who genuinely need it
- Regularly reviewing who has access to shared profiles
- Removing information when it is no longer needed
- Considering the privacy and dignity of the person the profile is about
Deleting a profile
A profile owner can delete a profile they own.
Deleting a profile removes the profile and its associated behavior records from normal use.
People who had been invited to the profile will lose access to it.
Deleting a shared profile therefore affects everybody who currently has access to that profile.
Before deleting a profile, consider whether you need to export any information that you are entitled to retain.
Deleted information may remain in backups for a limited period until normal backup-retention cycles expire.
Leaving a shared profile
If you are an invited member of somebody else’s profile, leaving the profile removes your access.
It does not delete the profile or behavior records that are part of that shared profile.
Records that you previously contributed remain part of the profile’s history.
Deleting your Steady Neuro account
Deleting your Steady Neuro account is separate from deleting an individual profile.
When you delete your account, Steady Neuro removes personal information associated with the operation of your account, including information such as:
- Your account name
- Your email address
- Authentication-account information
- Profile memberships
- Pending invitations
- Access permissions
- Other account information that is no longer required
If you own Behavior Tracker Pro profiles, deleting your account also results in those owned profiles being deleted. Other people who had access to those profiles will lose access.
If you are only an invited member of a profile owned by somebody else, deleting your account removes your membership and access but does not delete the shared profile.
Behavior records that you previously contributed to somebody else’s shared profile remain part of that profile.
Information intentionally entered into those records, including a Logged by value, also remains unless it is separately removed or changed.
Limited information may be retained where necessary for legal obligations, security, fraud prevention, resolving disputes, establishing or defending legal claims, or maintaining the integrity of the service.
Information may also remain temporarily in backups until normal backup-retention cycles expire.
Requests to erase information within a shared record
Deleting an account does not automatically rewrite the contents of historical shared behavior records.
However, you can ask Steady Neuro to consider removing personal information about you that remains within a shared record.
For example, if your full name was deliberately entered as a Logged by value, you may ask us to review whether that name should continue to be retained.
The right to erasure is not absolute. We will consider requests based on the information involved, why it is being retained, the rights of the person the shared profile concerns, the rights of other people involved, and applicable data-protection law.
To make a request, contact:
Data retention
We keep information only for as long as it is reasonably needed for the purposes for which it is processed.
In general:
- Account information is retained while your Steady Neuro account remains active
- Profile and behavior information is retained while the relevant profile remains active
- Shared records remain with the shared profile unless the record or profile is deleted
- Membership information is retained while access to a profile is active and as needed for security and integrity
- Invitation information is retained as needed to operate and secure the invitation process
- Subscription information may be retained where needed to manage entitlements, resolve purchase issues or meet legal obligations
- Limited security, diagnostic and audit information may be retained for an appropriate period after other information is deleted
- Backup copies may remain for a limited period until normal backup-retention cycles expire
We review retention as the service develops and aim not to keep identifiable information longer than necessary.
Security
Behavior Tracker Pro uses technical and organisational measures intended to protect information from unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or loss.
These measures include authenticated account access, profile permissions, encrypted network connections and security controls provided by our cloud infrastructure.
Access to a shared profile is limited according to the account’s membership and permissions.
No internet-connected service can guarantee absolute security.
You should also protect the device, email account and authentication method you use with Behavior Tracker Pro.
If you believe somebody has gained unauthorised access to your account or shared profile, contact:
Reports, exports and external sharing
Behavior Tracker Pro allows authorised users to create reports or export information.
When you choose to export or share information, you are responsible for deciding:
- What information should be included
- Who should receive it
- Whether the recipient genuinely needs it
- How the exported information is stored or shared afterwards
Once information has been exported from Behavior Tracker Pro and sent elsewhere, Steady Neuro may no longer be able to control copies held by the recipient.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live and the circumstances, you may have rights over your personal information.
These may include rights to:
- Request access to information about you
- Ask for inaccurate information to be corrected
- Request deletion of information
- Ask us to restrict certain processing
- Object to certain processing
- Receive certain information in a portable format
- Withdraw consent where processing relies on consent
These rights are not absolute and may depend on the type of information, why it is being processed and the rights of other people.
If a request relates to information about a child or another person represented by a profile, we may need to consider whether the person making the request is authorised to act on their behalf.
To exercise a privacy right, contact:
If you are in the United Kingdom, you also have the right to raise a concern with the Information Commissioner’s Office.
Automated decisions
Behavior Tracker Pro may calculate summaries, trends and patterns from the information recorded in a profile.
These features are intended to help users review their own observations.
Behavior Tracker Pro does not use these insights to make automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on the person represented by the profile.
The app does not diagnose a condition or determine why a behavior occurred.
